In the ATM address, the separators (.) are used to indicate the different
fields, but are not counted as part of the 40-character maximum.
By checking the information provided for cells, you can also determine if
the card is active.
Getting Adapter Status, Physical Layer Statistics, and
Medium Information
Use the atmmgr
card_inst_num
show -p command to determine an
adapter’s status, MAC address, and medium information. The adapter’s
medium information is the following:
• Medium: SONET or SDH.
• Speed: 155 Mbits/sec or 622 Mbits/sec.
• Media: Multi-Mode fiber (MMF), UTP category 5 (UTP Cat5), or
Single-Mode fiber (SMF).
For example (a card instance number of 0 is used):
atmmgr 0 show -p
The output from the command is as follows for a Classical IP ATM ARP
