Determining Which ATM Adapters You Have
If you want to find out the types of ATM adapters you have installed on a
system, you can use one or both of these commands, depending on the
information you are looking for:
atmmgr
card_inst_num
show -p
The applicable information in this command’s output is as follows:
Medium: SONET or SDH.
Speed: 155 Mbits/sec or 622 Mbits/sec.
Media: Multi-Mode fiber (MMF), UTP category 5 (UTP Cat5), or
Single-Mode fiber (SMF).
ioscan -fCatm
The applicable informaton in this command’s output is as follows:
Class.
Card instance number.
Driver name.
Description (if any is available).
For example, you might want to determine which kind of ATM adapter
has card instance number 1. So, you could issue this command:
atmmgr 1 show -
and get this output (the applicable information for this example is shown
in bold):
Physical statistics and status
Status : In service
MAC address : 0060b0221eb2
Medium type : sonet 155 Mbits/sec, multimode fiber
Number of Path BIP (B3) : 128
Number of Path FEBE : 65
Number of Line BIP (B2) : 336
