Installing the ATM Software
ATM software installation guidelines, things to know if you are
migrating from an earlier version of the software, and the steps for
installation are provided in the sections below.
Installation Guidelines
Here are some things to keep in mind when you are installing the ATM
software:
✓ If you need to upgrade the HP-UX operating system to any operating
system level other than HP-UX 11i v1, you must do that before you
install the ATM software. If you are upgrading from HP-UX 10.01,
type this command before installing the HP-UX software:
mv /usr/conf/master.d/atm /usr/conf/atm
CAUTION Do not remove patches relating to a previous version of the HP-UX
operating system.
✓ Do not install more than one ATM software product on one HP 9000
system.
✓ Do not install the ATM software with “incompatible software” forced.
✓ The ATM drivers for HSC and PCI adapters support automatic
updates from HP-UX 10.20 or 11.0 to HP-UX 11i v1. Automatic
updates are enabled using the update-ux tool and specifying the
ATM bundle name at the command line or in the Graphical User
Interface (GUI) when invoked with the -i option.
Migrating from an Earlier ATM Software Version
Here are some things to keep in mind when you are migrating from an
earlier version of the HP ATM software:
✓ You can install the current HP ATM software on top of previous
versions of the software—all configuration information is
maintained.
