ILMI Support
ILMI is an ATM Forum specification describing how to implement local
management functions. It uses SNMP exchanges directly on top of AAL5
over a given VPI and VCI. Depending on the UNI version, ILMI
functions are defined in dedicated MIBs specified, respectively, in UNI
3.0, UNI 3.1, and ILMI 4.0.
Implementation, Section 4 of UNI 3.0 and 3.1, and ILMI 4.0
The HP ATM adapters support ILMI with the following
implementation-specific choices and options:
The ILMI MIB will not be accessible through the conventional
Network Management framework, because this is not required by
the UNI specifications.
The optional (O) ATM statistics group is not supported.
The ATM adapter supports the UNI 3.0, UNI 3.1, and ILMI 4.0
MIBs, but the UNI 3.1 ILMI MIB definitions for VPC and VCC have
been retained because they are more accurate. This means the
atmfVpcTable and atmfVccTable will contain only PVCs. In addition,
the atmfVpcTable will be empty.
The standard VPI/VCI values (0/16) will be used by default for the
ILMI VCC. These VPI and VCI values are configurable on a
per-adapter basis through SAM.
The atmfATMLayerUniVersion object is supported.
The atmfATMLayerIlmiVersion object is supported for UNI 4.0.
