Manual entry if the ATM switch does not support ILMI.
Step 8. Set the UNI Version field to the appropriate value for your ATM switch.
If you intend to use the ABR traffic type on SVCs, your ATM switch must
be UNI 4.0 compliant and you must also set the UNI Version field to
UNI 4.0.
NOTE You will not be able to open SVCs if the UNI version configured on the
ATM adapter is not the same as the UNI version configured on the
switch port the adapter is connected to.
Step 9. If you set the Network Prefix option to Manual entry in step 7 above,
then enter the ATM address network prefix here.
Step 10. Select the Advanced Configuration button, to access the advanced
parameters (see the SAM online help for the parameter descriptions).
Step 11. Verify the following:
That the ATM Layer is set to the correct VPI/VCI range and that it
matches the VPI/VCI range on the switchcheck your switch to find
the VPI/VCI range.
That the ILMI VPI/VCI range is set to 0,16 (the ATM Forum
default).
Step 12. Click on the OK button to activate the ATM adapter configuration.
NOTE You must click on the OK button to enable the ATM adapter’s
configuration, even if you do not change any of the default settings. If you
select Cancel, the configuration is not implemented and the ATM
adapter remains unconfigured.
Step 13. Configure at least one network interface, which can be either of the
following:
Classical IP (see Chapter 3, “Configuring a Classical IP over ATM
Interface over an ATM Interface,” on page 23).
