ATM Configuration and Troubleshooting Guide

Configuring SVCs and PVCs
Configuring SVC Traffic Parameters
Chapter 574
Step 6. Highlightthe interfacethat you want to configure and select Define SVC
Traffic Parameters... from the “Actions” menu. This opens the
“Define SVC Traffic Parameters” window, which lists all SVCs and the
SVC traffic profiles already defined.
Step 7. Highlight the SVC that you want to modify and select the Modify...
button.
The SVC traffic profile’s current traffic parameter configuration is
displayed.
Step 8. If required, modify the SVC traffic profile’s destination ATM address.
Step 9. If required, modify the SVC traffic parameters (use the SAM online help
if you need more information about any of the parameters).
Step 10. Select the OK button when you are finished.
The modified SVC traffic profile appears in the list of SVC traffic
parameters.
The SVC traffic profile modifications take place the next time an SVC is
opened to the specified destination. Any open SVCs that are currently
using the previous SVC traffic profile continue to use the previous SVC
traffic profile until they are closed and reopened. You can disable and
re-enable the interface to implement the changes immediately; however,
this closes all SVCs currently using the interface.
Using the Command atmconfig
See the atmconfig(1M) man pages for more information about how to
modify an SVC traffic profile using the atmconfig delete command
followed by the command atmconfig add.
Removing an SVC Traffic Profile
You can remove an SVC traffic profile in SAM or by using the command
atmconfig delete.
Using SAM
To remove an SVC traffic profile in SAM, follow these steps:
Step 1. Log in as root.
Step 2. Type sam to start SAM.
