Installation Information
Consider the following points when installing the AD278A/AD279A PCI
MUX product:
• Install the AD278A/AD279A PCI MUX hardware when the system is
down.
• Install the AD278A/AD279A PCI MUX driver software before
installing the MUX cards, to avoid a second reboot.
• The kernel dynamically assigns the major number for the PCI MUX
when you install the AD278A/AD279A PCI MUX driver.
This major number can differ from system to system. However, once
a major number is assigned, it remains unchanged across reboots
until the driver is removed. To find the major number, run the
following command at the command prompt:
$ lsdev -d pci_mux1
The name of AD278A/AD279A PCI MUX adapter driver is pci_mux1.
