Step 4. Remove the card from the slot that has to be replaced, and insert the new card manually in the slot.
Step 5. Power-on the slot by running the following command at the command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -i slot_id
Step 6. Resume the AD278A/AD279A adapter driver by running the following command at the command
prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -r

On-Line Addition (OL*) of AD279A PCI MUX 64-Port adapter is supported on HP-UX 11i v2 operating
systems.
To add a new adapter or an additional adapter on a system that supports HP-UX 11i v2 operating system,
complete the following steps:
Step 1. Check whether the software is already installed on the system.
Step 2. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ olrad -q
After you successfully run this command, you get the slot ID information to insert the adapter.
Step 3. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ olrad -a <
slotid
>
After you successfully run this command, you are prompted with a message stating that the power
on the slot is turned off.
Step 4. Insert the card in the chosen slot manually.
Step 5. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ olrad -A <
slotid
>
This command powers on the slot, recognizes the card, and creates device files.
Step 6. To check if the card is claimed and the device files are created, run the following command at the
command prompt:
$ ioscan -knfC tty
The following output is displayed:
Step 7. To list the device files created after installing the driver, run the following command at the
command prompt:
