Verifying Hardware Installation
After installing the hardware and software, verify whether the driver has been claimed by running the
following command at the command prompt:
$ ioscan -knfC tty

On-Line Addition and Replacement (OLAR) of AD278A PCI MUX 8-Port adapter is supported on HP-UX 11i
v1 operating systems.
Table 1-3 lists the HP-UX servers on which On-Line Addition and Replacement (OLAR) of AD278A PCI MUX
8-Port adapter is supported.
To add a new adapter or an additional adapter to a system that supports HP-UX 11i v1 operating system,
complete the following steps:
Step 1. Check if the software is already installed on the system.
Step 2. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -q
After you successfully run this command, you receive the slot ID information to insert the adapter.
Step 3. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -o slot_id
After you successfully run this command, you are prompted with a message stating that the power
on the slot is turned off.
Step 4. Insert the card in the chosen slot manually.
Step 5. Run the following command at the command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -i slot_id
This command powers on the slot, recognizes the card, and creates device files.
