Step 6. To check if the card is claimed and the device files are created, run the following command at the
command prompt:
$ ioscan -knfC tty
If the card is claimed the following output is displayed:
To list the device files created after installing the driver, run the following command at the
command prompt:
$ lssf /dev/tty*
The following output is displayed:
To replace the old adapter with a new adapter on a system that supports HP-UX 11i v1 operating system,
complete the following steps:
NOTE You can replace an adapter with a similar type of adapter. For example, you can replace
AD278A 8-port adapter with AD278A 8-port adapter only.
Step 1. Get the slot number where you want to insert the card by running the following command at the
command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -q
All the slot IDs are displayed.
Step 2. Suspend the AD278A/AD279A adapter driver by the running the following command at the
command prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -s slot_id
Step 3. Power-off the supply to the selected slot by running the following command at the command
prompt:
$ /usr/bin/rad -o slot_id
