Check you have the correct cables

Note Ensure that you have the correct quality (SMF, MMF or UTP Cat5) of cable or

loopback connector for your adapter.

• Multi Mode Fibre. The MMF-based ATM adapters have SC connectors. For

connecting to switches with ST connectors, SC to ST duplex adapters are

available from AMP.

• UTP Cat5 RJ45 (not available on the J2804A adapter). Use direct cables to

connect UTP Cat5-based adapters to an ATM switch. Use a crossover cable to

connect two adapters in a back-to-back configuration. A UTP Cat 5 loopback

connector is supplied with the ATM card.
