HP-UX Port Assignments
For each port on the MUX card(s), SAM is used to create different
devices (that is, minor number references) for different purposes on
HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2 systems. To create different devices on
HP-UX 11i v3 systems, see “Creating Special Device Files” on page 27.
For each PCI MUX card installed in your system, insf creates devices
for all of the ports connected to that MUX card.
