Using Fast Select

Establishing a VC in response to a fast select call
The server can establish a VC in response to a fast select call. The steps
for this are shown below and in Table 6-4, “Fast Select Connection
Establishment.” The steps shown in Table 6-1, “Steps for Fast Select,”
are assumed to already have occurred. The fast select facilities must be
set for no restrictions on response for this option to be used.
Step 1. The server optionally writes the user data field with information
appropriate to indicate the reason for its response to the fast select call.
Step 2. The server transmits the CALL ACCEPTED packet.
Step 3. The client receives the CALL CONNECTED packet.
Step 4. Both the server and client have the option to write user data and carry
on normal VC data transmission with DATA packets.
Step 5. The connection is closed by the client or server (see “Terminating a
connection”in Chapter 3).
