What Is in This Version
This version of X.25 is supported on the HP-UX 11i v1 operating system.
Following are the new features in this version of X.25:
Support for configuring source and destination SAP IDs with unique
user defined values for X.25 over LLC2 interface.
Source SAP ID (SSAP) and destination SAP ID (DSAP) can now be
assigned user defined and unique values. For more details, see HP
X.25/9000 Users Guide at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#X.25
Support for High Availability feature for X.25 over LLC2 interface.
The X.25 link software now provides support for local, remote, and a
combination of both local and remote failover recovery for X.25 over
LLC2 interfaces. Remote failover requires the HP MC/ Service Guard
product. For more information, see HP X.25/9000 Users Guide at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#X.25
X.25 product (J2793B) B.11.11.01 has been made compatible with
NodeHostNameXpnd (Nodename, Hostname expansion enhancement)
product.
Benefits
Support of X.25 over LLC2 support enables a significant performance as
as typically LAN cards support 100Mbps (megabits per sec.) in
comparison to the 2 Mbps per X.25 interface.
The OLAR feature provides the ability to replace/add PCI I/O cards of
similar kinds on a HP-UX system without the need for completely
shutting down and then re-booting the system or affecting other system
components. The system hardware uses the per-slot power control
combined with operating system support to enable this feature.
Fixes
