LAN Boot -- bootp Server Setup README

3. Force inetd to re-read the inetd.conf file.
Simply run the command " inetd -c " at the HP-UX prompt.
4. Try to load ignite over the network using either " lanboot select " for HP Integrity or
" boot lan " for PA-RISC.
Problems?
1. Kill the running bootp daemon on the server by:
a. Find any running instances of bootp with " ps -ef | grep bootp "
b. Kill this instance using " kill -9 <pid> "
2. Verify that the boot file referred to in /etc/bootptab has only read permissions enabled for all ( -r--r--
r-- ).
3. Monitor the bootp debug information printed on the server in the file /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log.
4. Monitor traffic on server using the " netstat " command.
