It is assumed that the reader is experienced with the basics of localand wide area networking and has a knowledge of HP-UX operating system concepts,commands, and configuration.Changed Product Features for May 2005The May 2005 release of HP-UX 11i v1 and v2 modifies the following Ethernet-basedproducts:• The IEther-00 driver software bundle (iether driver) and the GigEther-01 driversoftware bundle (igelan driver) are updated to provide:— The ability to turn On or Off the send and receive sides of the Gigabit Ethernetnetwork interface card’s Checksum Offload (CKO) . See details in Chapter 1 ofthis document.— Support 1000FD mode of switches. Gigabit Ethernet cards in autonegotiationmode will now support 1000FD manual/fixed mode on the link partner (such as aswitch). See details in Chapter 1 of this document.Changed Product Features for September 2004The September 2004 release of HP-UX 11i v2 modifies the following Ethernet-basedproducts:• The IEther-00 driver software bundle (iether driver) and the GigEther-01 driversoftware bundle (igelan driver) are updated to provide:— TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO). See details in Chapter 1 of this document.— 64-bit management information base (MIB) statistics. Directs the data linkservice (DLS) provider to return 64 bit statistics.— Virtual LANs (VLANs). This feature was on HP-UX 11i v1 since June 2004 butwas not on the HP-UX 11i v2 release of March 2004. This feature is described inUsing HP-UX VLANs on http://docs.hp.com.
