The HPVM host system encounters a panic in the iether driver transmit path. This panic
occurs during the execution of certain scripts when network traffic is going through a Virtual
NIC configured using AVIO_LAN over APA vSwitch. The APA port used for the vSwitch
is configured over iether network interface ports. The following scripts are affected:
hplm stop
hpapa stop
hpapa start
hplm start
QXCR1000911599
Network packets transmitted are dropped in the HPVM guest OS, which causes a drop in
throughput rate. This occurs when network traffic is going through a Virtual NIC which is
configured using AVIO_LAN over APA vSwitch. The APA port used for the vSwitch is
configured over iether network interface ports.
Two independent problems contribute to the packets being dropped. One problem is resolved
by the iether driver in this release. The other is resolved in the B.11.23.0909 version of the
AVIO HostAvioLan hssn driver (CR :QXCR1000933343).
