Table 3 HP-UX 11i v3 December 2012 fixes — IEther-00 B.11.31.1212 SR number QXCR1001247694 Description On multiple-CPU systems and a high-transmit load, the iether driver might cause intermittent system hangs or high CPU utilization. In addition, under these circumstances, systems with MC/Serviceguard might exhibit a cluster-reformation or system Transfer Of Control (TOC). QXCR1001200917 Potentially poor network performance might be observed when operating the LAN adapter at 10Mb or 100Mb half-duplex.
Table 8 HP-UX 11i v3 March 2012 fixes — IEther-00 B.11.31.1203 SR number Description QXCR1001132541 When a guest VNIC is created over the iether interface, a synchronization issue in the receive path between the host freeing used buffers and the guest shutting down causes the HPVM host to panic. QXCR1001169816 The iether driver causes reduced performance in other applications. QXCR1001135225 After 15 reboots, two of the four AD339A ports go into the DOWN state.
6.3 Firmware requirements IMPORTANT: To ensure full functionality, you must install the latest adapter firmware and Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) driver for your adapter. The IEther-00 (iether) requires the latest firmware for supported devices. For more information, see the latest HP-UX Ethernet Card Support Matrix at: http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-iocards-11iv3-docs Network adapters supported on HP 9000 systems do not require separate firmware updates.
