Operation and maintenance
This section contains the most frequently asked questions about the router operation and maintenance.
Q.
What should I do when the CF card on the MPU is reading or writing data?
A. When you perform operations on the CF card on the MPU (for example, copying or uploading versions,
configuration files, or downloading log files), do not remove the MPU or the CF card. Also, ensure the
power supply to the device. Otherwise, FAT table exceptions or CF card damage might occur occasionally.
Q.
Errors are reported when you install a power module to an operating HSR6800 router. Is this a problem?
A. No. A "DOWN" message and a "FAILURE" message are logged when you install a certain power module
to an HSR6800 router that is operating. This phenomenon is caused by loose contact on the signal pins
when you insert the power module. After you securely install the power module, you can determine the
power module status according to the power status log messages.
Q.
What is the management port number on the HSR6808 router?
A. In release R3103 and later versions, the management port number on the HSR6808 router was changed
from 5/0/0 to 0/0/0.
