Configuring an E1 channel

1. Enter system view.

3. Set the framing format for E1.

4. Set the clock mode for E1.

5. Set the loopback mode for E1.

6. Set the overhead bytes for E1.

By default, C2 is set to
hexadecimal 02 and J2 is cyclic
null.
7. Configure the E1 operating
mode.
• Method 1:
Configure E1 to operate in
unframed mode:
e1 e1-number unframed
• Method 2:
Configure E1 to operate in
framed mode and set timeslot
bundling:
a. (Optional) undo e1
e1-number unframed
b. e1 e1-number channel-set
set-number timeslot-list
range
Use either method.
The default setting is:
• E1 operates in framed mode.
• An E1 channel is not
channelized.
8. Shut down the specified E1
channel.
e1 e1-number shutdown

9. Configure the bundling mode
of the serial interface formed
by bundling the timeslots of
the E1 channel.
ppp mp soft-binding

Optional.
By default, the hardware bundling
mode is adopted.
The HIM-CL1P and HIM-CL2P
interface modules do not support
cross-port hardware MP bundling.
On these interface modules, you
can use software bundling to meet
cross-port MP requirements.

E1 configuration is supported on the CPOS (E) interface module.
