Default
Traffic on a Layer 3 aggregate interface whose member ports are located on the same card is processed
and forwarded by the card that houses the member ports, and traffic on a Layer 3 aggregate interface
whose member ports are located on different cards is processed and forwarded by the card that houses
the first selected member port.

Parameters
slot slot-number: Specifies the card by its slot number to process and forward traffic for the interface. (In
standalone mode.)
chassis chassis-number slot slot-number: Specifies the card on the specified IRF member device to
process and forward traffic for the interface. The chassis-number argument specifies the ID of the IRF
member device. The slot-number argument specifies the number of the slot that holds the card. (In IRF
mode.)
Usage guidelines
If you do not specify a card to process and forward traffic for a Layer 3 aggregate interface whose
member ports are located on different cards, the traffic might be processed and forwarded by different
cards from time to time due to changes in the Selected ports.
If the card specified by this command is removed, the traffic will be interrupted. After the card is
re-installed, traffic forwarding is restored.
On distributed routers of the HSR6800 series, you are not allowed to use this command to specify the
MPU to forward traffic for Layer 3 aggregate interfaces, because all traffic must be forwarded on base
cards.
Examples

shutdown
Use shutdown to shut down the aggregate interface or subinterface.
Use undo shutdown to bring up the aggregate interface or subinterface.
