Use mac-table limit to specify the maximum number of MAC addresses that the device can learn for the
VPLS instance.
Use undo mac-table limit to restore the default.
Syntax
mac-table limit mac-limit-number
undo mac-table limit
Default
The maximum number of MAC addresses that the device can learn for a VPLS instance is 16384.

Parameters
mac-limit-number: Specifies the maximum number of MAC addresses that the device can learn for the
VPLS instance. The value range for the mac-limit-number argument is 0 to 65535.

# Set the maximum number of MAC addresses that the device can learn for VPLS instance aaa to 1024.

mac-table limit drop-unknown
Use mac-table limit drop-unknown to configure the device to drop packets with unknown source MAC
addresses when it has learned the maximum number of MAC addresses for the VPLS instance. With this
command configured for a VPLS instance, after the device learns the maximum number of MAC
addresses for the VPLS instance, it drops packets whose source MAC addresses are not in the MAC
address table and forwards those whose MAC addresses are in the MAC address table.
Use undo mac-table limit drop-unknown to restore the default.
