Deleting a global threshold
You can delete only the user-defined global thresholds. After a global threshold is deleted, it is no longer
valid for the corresponding monitor index on the Threshold Setting page navigated from an application
monitor report page or a custom application monitor report page.
To delete a user-defined global threshold:
1. Click the Resource tab.
2. Select Application Manager > Configurations from the navigation tree.
The Configurations page appears.
3. Click Threshold Configuration.
The Global Threshold List appears.
4. Click the Delete icon for the threshold you want to delete.
5. Click OK.
Setting the custom thresholds
To configure the custom thresholds:
1. Click the Resource tab.
2. Use one of the following methods to open the Threshold Setting page:
Method 1
a. Click Application Management > Application Monitor from the navigation tree.
b. Click the target application name on the application monitor list.
c. Click the Set Threshold icon for the target monitor index on the application monitor report
page.
Method 2
d. Click Application Management > Custom Monitor to open the custom monitor list from the
navigation tree.
e. Click the Monitor Report icon for the target custom monitor on the custom monitor list.
f. Click the Set Threshold icon for the target monitor index on the custom monitor report page.
NOTE:
If you set a threshold in the application monitor report page, APM applies the same threshold setting in the
custom monitor.
3. Select Custom from the Threshold Type list and configure the following parameters:
Threshold Condition—Select a threshold condition. The available options vary with the monitor
index type. For the Value type, options are Greater than or equal to and Less than or equal to.
For the String type, options are Include and Exclude.
Unit—Select a threshold unit type. The value depends on the monitor index type. Some indexes
do not contain a unit type, such as the physical thread count of a .NET server.
Enable Level-1 Threshold/Threshold—Configure the level-1 threshold setting for the monitor
index. If you enable the level-1 threshold, set a level-1 threshold value in the Threshold field.
APM activates a major alarm when the monitor index meets the threshold.
