Managing CPE authentication users
This function defines the username and password with which a CPE accesses BIMS. When a CPE
sends a connection request to BIMS, BIMS first checks whether or not the username and password
in the request match the corresponding information defined in the authentication user list.
NOTE: Only an administrator can add and modify CPE authentication user information. Viewers
and network maintenance technicians can only modify the user password. The username of a CPE
authentication user cannot be modified.
Querying and viewing CPE authentication user information
To query and view the CPE authentication users in the system:
1. Click Service > BIMS > System Configuration > CPE Authentication User.
The CPE Authentication User page appears, displaying the CPE Authentication User List.
2. To view information for a specific user, enter the Username in the Query CPE Authentication
Users pane, and then click Query.
3. Click Reset to clear the query conditions and view all CPE authentication user information.
Adding a CPE authentication user
To add a CPE authentication user to the system:
1. Click Service > BIMS > System Configuration > CPE Authentication User.
2. On the CPE Authentication User page, click Add at the top of the CPE Class Authentication
User List.
3. On the Add Authentication User page, enter a Username, and then enter and confirm a
Password for this user.
4. (Optional) Enter a Description for this user.
5. Click OK.
Modifying a CPE authentication user
To modify a CPE authentication user in the system:
1. Click Service > BIMS > System Configuration > CPE Authentication User.
2. On the In the CPE Authentication User page, click the Modify icon in the CPE Authentication
User List for the user you want to modify.
3. On the Modify CPE Authentication User page, change the Password and Description for this
user, as needed.
NOTE: The Username of a CPE authentication user cannot be modified.
4. Click OK.
Deleting a CPE authentication user
To delete a CPE authentication user from the system:
1. Click Service > BIMS > System Configuration > CPE Authentication User.
2. On the In the CPE Authentication User page, click the Delete icon in the CPE Authentication
User List for the user you want to delete.
NOTE: The default user bims cannot be deleted.
3. Click OK.
