HP Intelligent Management Center v7.0 VAN Fabric Manager Administrator Guide

5 Managing DCs
A DC can provide various network services, and can also serve as the center of data process,
storage, and exchange. It enables you to manage the multiple network resources in a centralized
away. With a DC, you can manage both traditional network devices such as routers, switches,
and security devices, and IT devices like storage devices and servers.
By using the VFM you can manage the target DCs not only in VFM, but also in network devices,
servers, and storage devices of the DCs. However, a device cannot be used for a specific service
unless it has already been imported into a DC. DC management is the basis for SAN management
and LAN management.
