1. To perform a quick query, on the upper right corner of the fabric list, enter a partial or complete
fabric name in the query field, and click the Query icon .
To perform an advanced query, click the Advanced icon next to the query field, and specify
the following query criteria:
Name—Enter a partial or complete name of the fabric.
Description—Enter a partial or complete description of the fabric.
Empty fields are ignored.
2. Click Query to display all fabrics that match the query criteria.
Viewing fabric details
In the fabric list, click a fabric name.
The fabric details page appears. It includes the following contents:
Fabric basic information:
Name—Fabric name.
Description—Description for the fabric.
Switch Count—Number of FCoE switches contained in the fabric.
VSAN Count—Number of VSANs contained in the fabric.
Switch—For information about managing FCoE switches in a fabric, see "Managing FCoE
switches."
Server—For information about managing servers in a fabric, see "Managing servers."
Storage—For information about managing storage devices in a fabric, see "Managing storage
devices".
VSAN—For information about managing VSANs in a fabric, see "Managing VSANs".
Adding a fabric
To add a fabric:
1. In the fabric list, click Add.
2. Configure the following parameters:
Name—Specify a name for the fabric. The name must be unique in VFM.
Description—Enter a description for the fabric. A detailed description facilitates operators'
maintenance.
3. Click OK.
The added fabric appears in the fabric list.
Modifying a fabric
To add a fabric:
1. In the fabric list, click the Modify icon of the target fabric.
2. Modify the following parameters:
Name—Specify a new name for the fabric. The name must be unique in VFM.
Description—Enter a new description for the fabric. Using a detailed description facilitates
operators' maintenance.
3. Click OK.
