HP Intelligent Management Center v7.0 VAN Fabric Manager Administrator Guide

Command lines in different colors indicate different consistency:
Black command lines—Configurations on the switch and in VFM are the same.
Red command lines—Configurations on the switch and in VFM are different.
Blue command lines—Configurations do not exist either on the switch or in VFM.
3. View the different command line.
Click the Previous Diff or Next Diff button. The switched command line is highlighted in yellow.
If there are no difference in all command lines of the switch and VFM, the two buttons are
unavailable.
4. Click Close to return to the FCoE switch list.
Configuring global DCBX parameters for a single switch in VFM
After configuring global DCBX parameters for a switch, the operator can deploy them to the switch.
To configure global DCBX parameters for a single switch in VFM:
1. In the FCoE switch list, click the icon for the target switch. The global DCBX parameters
modify page appears.
2. Configure the following parameters:
802.1p Priority—Enter the 802.1p priority to be reset for FCoE and FIP frames.
Local Precedence—Enter the local precedence to which the 802.1p priority is mapped.
A local precedence value corresponds to a WRR queue number.
3. Click OK.
Deploying global DCBX parameters to FCoE switches
If the operator has configured global DCBX parameters separately for an FCoE switch, the configured
global DCBX parameters are deployed.
If the operator has not configured global DCBX parameters separately for an FCoE switch yet, the
default global DCBX parameters are deployed.
To deploy global DCBX parameters to FCoE switches:
1. In the FCoE switch list, select one or more switches.
2. Click Configure DCBX.
3. Select Deploy DCBX from the menu that appears.
After global DCBX parameters are deployed, VFM automatically synchronizes the FCoE switches.
After synchronization, the DCBX column for the switch displays . This indicates that global
DCBX parameters have been deployed and they are consistent with VFM and switch.
Undeploying global DCBX parameters from FCoE switches
Perform this task to undeploy the global DCBX parameters that have been deployed to FCoE
switches.
To undeploy global DCBX parameters from FCoE switches:
1. In the FCoE switch list, select one or more switches.
2. Click Configure DCBX.
3. Select Undeploy DCBX from the menu.
After global DCBX parameters are undeployed, VFM automatically synchronizes the FCoE switches.
After synchronization, the DCBX column for the switch displays , which indicates the global
DCBX parameters are not deployed and they are inconsistent on the switch and in VFM.
