HP Intelligent Management Center v7.0 VAN Fabric Manager Administrator Guide

2. Configure the following parameters:
VFC Interface ID—Enter a number for the VFC interface. The number must be unique in
VFM.
Port Mode—Select E or F from the list. Select E mode for a VFC interface connecting to
an FCoE switch, and select F mode for a VFC interface connecting to a server or storage
device.
NOTE: In VFM, VFC interfaces cannot be configured to operate in NP or Auto mode.
Bound Ethernet Interface—Select an Ethernet interface to be bound to the VFC interface
from the list. Options are all Ethernet interfaces on the FCoE switch.
Bound MAC Address—Enter the peer FCoE MAC address to be bound to the VFC interface.
One MAC address can be bound to only one VFC interface.
FCF Priority—Enter the FCF priority for the VFC interface. If a server or storage device is
connected to multiple VFC interfaces, the server or storage device registers with the FCoE
switch whose VFC interface has the highest FCF priority.
3. Click OK.
Modifying a VFC interface
To modify a VFC interface:
1. In the VFC interface list, click the icon for the target VFC interface, and select Modify Port
Configuration from the menu.
2. Modify the parameters for the VFC interface. For more information, see "Adding a VFC
interface."
You can modify all parameters except interface name.
3. Click OK.
Deleting VFC interfaces
To delete a VFC interface:
If you delete a VFC interface in VFM, the VFC interface on the FCoE switch is also deleted.
Deleting a VFC interface affects the allowed VSANs on the VFC interface and also affects the
access between server-storage pairs. Make sure the VFC interface is not needed before deleting
it.
To delete VFC interfaces:
1. In the VFC interface list, select one or more VFC interfaces.
2. Click Delete. A confirmation dialog box appears.
3. Click OK.
Synchronizing VFC interfaces
VFM does not separately synchronize VFC interfaces and their configurations.
It synchronizes VFC interface information when synchronizing FCoE switches. For more information,
see "Synchronizing FCoE switches."
Enabling or disabling VFC interfaces
Perform this task to modify the administrative status of VFC interfaces. When the VFC interface
administrative status is Disabled, the operational status of the VFC interface is disabled. When the
VFC interface administrative status is Enabled, the operational status of the VFC interface is up or
down, depending on the link status.
To enable or disable a single VFC interface:
