Viewing server details
To view server details, click the icon for the target server.
The server details include the following information:
HBA
HBA—WWN of the HBA. If an HBA has only one N_Port, the WWN of that N_Port is
used as the WWN of the HBA. The HBA and N_Port should have the same WWN
address. If an HBA has multiple N_Ports, it selects any one N_Port’s WWN address as
its WWN address.
Node Name—WWN of the server where the HBA resides.
Vendor—Vendor of the HBA.
Serial ID—Serial number of the HBA.
Model—Model of the HBA.
Model Description—Model description for the HBA.
Hardware Version—Hardware version of the HBA.
Driver Version—Driver version of the HBA.
ROM or BIOS Version—ROM or BIOS version of the HBA.
Firmware Version—Firmware version of the HBA.
OS Version—OS name and version of the server where the HBA resides.
CT Payload Len—Maximum length of CT payload allowed by the HBA. The CT payload
includes the basic header and extended header of CT packets, but not the FC header.
N_Port
WWN—WWN of the N_Port. The WWN is initialized by the manufacturer.
Supported FC4 Types—FC4 types supported by the N_Port, including: FCP, GS3, IP,
LLC/SNAP, NPV, SNMP, SW_ILS, and VI.
Current Speed—Current speed of the N_Port in Gbps.
Max Frame Size—Maximum frame size allowed by the N_Port.
OS Name—Name of the N_Port displayed in the operating system.
Host Name—Name of the server where the N_Port resides.
Synchronizing servers
VFM does not synchronize servers separately.
It synchronizes server information when synchronizing FCoE switches. For more information, see
"Synchronizing FCoE switches."
Managing storage devices
Storage devices provide data storage service in SANs. In the SAN management module of VFM,
storage devices cannot exist independently. To manage storage devices, you must import them to
their corresponding fabrics.
A storage device cannot be directly imported to a fabric. After you import an FCoE switch to a
fabric, the storage devices that register with the switch are automatically imported to the fabric.
