ReferencesRemarksStep
See the CLI SPB
configuration guide.
To import a device to VFM's SPB module, you must perform
this step for a device which has be identified as an SPB
device.
1. Enable SPB globally on
SPB devices from their CLI.
After importing SPB devices, you can synchronize their
SPBM configuration to VFM's SPB module instead of
configuring SPB from scratch.
2. Import SPB devices to
VFM's SPB module.
Importing devices
Synchronizing SPBM
configuration
MST region parameters include:
3. Configure MST region
parameters.
Configuring MST region
parameters for one
device
MST region name
MSTP revision level
Configuring MST region
parameters for multiple
devices
MSTI 4092 to B-VLAN mapping
VFM activates the MST region parameters automatically
when it deploys MST settings to SPB devices.
Managing interfacesYou must enable SPBM on the provider network ports on
all SPB devices.
4. Enable SPBM on
interfaces.
Creating a B-VLAN plan
The B-VLAN plan contains B-VLAN to ECT algorithm
mappings.
5. Configure and deploy the
B-VLAN plan.
To ensure correct SPT calculation for B-VLANs, the B-VLAN
to ECT algorithm mappings must be the same across the
SPB network.
To forward traffic to each other in a B-VLAN, two SPB
devices must map a B-VLAN to the same ECT algorithm
index.
In this step, you must set BEBs and configure the following
customer-side settings for the BEBs:
6. Create and deploy SPB
services to BEBs based on
the B-VLAN plan.
Adding SPB services
Deploying SPB services
Assign I-SIDs to SPB services (also called "SPB VSIs).
Set the multicast replication mode.
Configure Ethernet service instances on attachment
circuits to match customer traffic.
Assign a B-VLAN to each SPB service based on the
B-VLAN plan.
NOTE: For BEBs, VFM automatically enables L2VPN and assigns names to SPB VSI.
