HP Intelligent Management Center v7.0 VAN Fabric Manager Administrator Guide

1. From the navigation tree, select Service > VAN Fabric Manager > LAN Configuration > SPB.
2. Click the B-VLAN Plan tab.
3. In the B-VLAN plan list, click Add.
4. Map a B-VLAN ID to an ECT algorithm index:
B-VLAN ID—Enter the B-VLAN ID. Make sure the B-VLAN plan has not included this B-VLAN
yet.
ECT index—Select an ECT algorithm index from 1 to 16.
5. Click OK.
Importing B-VLAN ID to ECT algorithm mappings from devices
To import a B-VLAN ID to ECT algorithm mapping:
1. From the navigation tree, select Service > VAN Fabric Manager > LAN Configuration > SPB.
2. Click the B-VLAN Plan tab.
3. Click Import from Devices.
The page displays all B-VLAN ID to ECT index mappings on SPB devices that are imported to
the SPB module.
4. Select mappings.
5. Click OK.
The SPB module does not import mappings for a B-VLAN if the B-VLAN plan already contains the
B-VLAN ID.
Remapping a B-VLAN to an ECT algorithm index
To move traffic from an overloaded path to a path that has less traffic, follow one of these methods:
Change B-VLAN to ECT algorithm mappings. This method enables you to move all traffic of
a B-VLAN from one path to another. The B-VLAN's traffic is disrupted before you complete
B-VLAN to ECT algorithm remapping across the SPB network.
Perform ECT migration. For more information, see "Performing ECT migration." ECT migration
provides more granular traffic control than B-VLAN to ECT algorithm remapping. This method
minimizes traffic loss.
To remap a B-VLAN to an ECT algorithm index:
1. From the navigation tree, select Service > VAN Fabric Manager > LAN Configuration > SPB.
2. Click the B-VLAN Plan tab.
3. Click the Modify icon for the target B-VLAN ID.
4. In the dialog box that appears, select a new ECT algorithm index.
5. Click OK.
Removing B-VLAN to ECT algorithm mappings
This task removes B-VLAN to ECT algorithm mappings from the B-VLAN plan. It does not remove
B-VLAN to ECT algorithm mappings from SPB devices.
To remove B-VLAN to ECT algorithm mappings:
1. From the navigation tree, select Service > VAN Fabric Manager > LAN Configuration > SPB.
2. Click the B-VLAN Plan tab.
3. Select mapping entries in the B-VLAN plan.
4. Click Delete.
5. Click OK.
