2.1 Full support for HP Moonshot 1500 systems
HP Insight CMU v7.1 fully supports HP Moonshot 1500 systems with HP iLO Chassis Manager
(CM) BMC. Support requires a special SKU part number with a per-chassis licensing model. For
standard rack and Blade servers, per-node licensing is still valid.
2.2 Archived monitoring data for archived user groups
The release adds efficient and scalable storage and visualization of all numerical monitored metrics
for archived user groups. See the "Archiving user groups" section in the "HP Insight Cluster
Management Utility v7.1 User Guide" available at www.hp.com/go/cmu.
2.3 GUI improvements
This release provides a more efficient and robust GUI. The look and feel of the GUI is updated to
improve the user experience. The updated GUI provides quick access to various cluster resources,
with an instant name filtering feature. The user can now access various settings in the options panel,
and can monitor the cluster status with the information panel at the bottom.
The updated GUI also provides full support for the history engine, with the ability to display archived
monitoring data in Time View for archived user groups.
Time View is more efficient. A new tooltip is provided for focused petals, and time scale labels are
always displayed.
Specific improvements to the GUI include:
• Quick access to all resources with a filtering feature.
• Less memory consumption by 3D Time View.
• Custom options (that are not node specific) on a new top-bar menu with a configurable name
(tools by default).
• Ability to define the display of the custom cluster name instead of the IP address.
• Ability to change the GUI font size.
• Always visible Time View metric labels.
• A heatmap option (gradient) to easily monitor points of interest in Time View.
• Automatic selection of logical group in the backup dialog (if only one logical group exists).
• Display of x11 information in the title bar.
• New web home page with dynamic cluster status pie chart.
• ssh tunnel and x11 transparent redirection support for Mac OS X.
2.4 Automated installation tool
This release provides the new cmu_mgt_config tool to automate the installation of an HP Insight
CMU management node.
2.5 API improvements
• The -i option to cmu_show_node displays information from the compute node database.
