HP Insight Control Server Provisioning 7.3 Update 1 Administrator Guide

Table 3 Media Server custom attributes (continued)
FormatMedia Server SettingCustom Attribute Name
@x.x.x.x/sharenameIP address and sharename for
Windows deployments
__OPSW-Media-WinPath
http://x.x.x.x/mnt/sharename/mediaMedia Server Linux URI for Linux and
ESXi deployments
__OPSW-Media-LinURI
These custom attributes are built into the appliance as a convenience. OS Build Plans can be edited
and those custom attributes can be replaced by hard coded values or user-defined custom attributes.
As long as the URL provided to the Set Media Source step matches the location of the media, the
OS Build Plans should work. Creating user-defined custom attributes will allow multiple Media
Servers to be defined where each Build Plan can reference a different location.
Windows OS Build Plans
In addition to the Setup Media source step parameter, where the special custom attributes that
define the URL are used, Windows OS Build Plans also include additional steps whose parameters
must match the Media Server directory configuration. The following script steps contain path names
as script parameters to either the Windows setup.exe program or image file location:
Run Windows xxxx Setup where xxxx is the Windows version name
Prevent WIM File Overwrite
Capture Windows Image
Apply WIM Image
NOTE: The Media directory structure must match the parameters. If the Media Server directory
structure was changed from what is described in Table 2 (page 14), the parameters will need to
be modified accordingly.
Linux ESXi OS Build Plans
In addition to the Set Media Source step parameter where the special custom attributes that define
URI are used, the parameter field also includes the path under the Media directory. For example,
the parameter field could look like @__OPSW-Media-LinURI@/rhel65-x64. If the Media Server
directory structure was changed from what is described in Table 2 (page 14), the parameter will
also need to be modified for the path name.
Install SPP and update firmware OS Build Plans
The SPP path name on the Media Server is expected to be Media\spp\yyyy.mm.x as described
in Table 2 (page 14) and cannot be easily modified. This format ensures the use of the
--spp_version=latest or where this parameter is not defined in the parameter field will use
the latest SPP version.
Install Intelligent Provisioning Firmware Update OS Build Plan
The Intelligent Provisioning path name on the Media Server is expected to be Media\ip\x.xx
as described in Table 2 (page 14) and cannot be easily modified. This format ensures the use of
--ip_version=latest or where this parameter is not defined in the parameter field will use
the latest Intelligent Provisioning version.
Manually creating a Windows-based Media Server
From the IC server provisioning appliance UI, the IC server provisioning Media Server setup utility
is available for download onto a Windows-based server. The Media Server setup utility is also
available in the product ZIP file your appliance was delivered in and on the media. This utility can
be used to set up the Media Server via an interactive interface. See the HP Insight Control Server
