Item
Description
Cache messages
received within the last
x days
Selects tombstoned messages r eceived within the specified number of days. Enter
0 to retrieve all tombstoned messages regardless of the received date. Cache
Manager deletes previously cached messages that fall outside of this range. Note
that this option is based on the da te the message was received, not the date it
was tombstoned.
Check fo

archiv
ed messaged
every x
minutes
Enter how often (in minutes) Cache Manager should inspect the user’s mailbox for
newly tombstoned messages and messages that have been deleted from the cache.
Encry
pt Cache
Select this check box to use encryption when storing the messages in the cache
location on the client machine’s file system. Depending upon how the user’s
computer is configured, only the current user can read encrypted messages. Also,
depending on how the user’s Folder Options are set, the encrypted message is
likely to appear g reen in Windows Explorer.
NOTE:
Archived messages will only be stored encrypted in the offline cache if
EFS is properly configured on the client. System administrators who want
to implement this o ption should consult Microsoft’s documentation for
informationonconfi guring EFS.
Cache messages with
attachments only
Sel
ect this check box to retrieve m essages that have attachments. Clearing this
che
ck box retrieves all messages. Selecting this option saves space on the user’s
system and the time necessary to load the offline cache. Unless the email mining
server is set to “Trim Message Bodies,” the message body is visible in the preview
pa
ne, and therefore, storing messages without attachments in the offline cache
is
not necessary.
Size (MB) of Cache
Sets the maximum limit on the size (in m egabytes) of a user’s offline cache. This
setting takes precedence over the number of days setting mentioned previously. For
example, if the messages selected according to the number of days setting cause
the offline cache to exceed the cache size setting, Cache Manager only retains the
most recent messages that comply with the cache size setting.
Empty Cache Click to delete all messages stored in the offline cache.
