Replacing the Fan Assembly
To replace the fan assembly, perform the following steps:
Step 1. Place the fan assembly into the server blade, and push down on the assembly until the retention
clip clicks into place. Refer to Figure 4-15.
NOTE Be sure to route the wires through the gap on the fan bracket.
Step 2. Connect the four fan assembly cables to the system board. Refer to Figure 4-14.
IMPORTANT Be sure to connect each fan cable to its corresponding connector on the system board
when replacing the fan assembly.
Step 3. Install the airflow guide. Refer to “Replacing the Airflow Guide” on page 51.
Step 4. Install the access panel. Refer to “Replacing the Server Blade Access Panel” on page 47.
Step 5. Install the server blade into the enclosure. Refer to “Replacing the Server Blade into the Enclosure”
on page 46.
