Minimum Firmware Revisions
IMPORTANT: Some steps in the upgrade process depend upon some elements being present in the
supporting firmware. A minimum set of firmware is required for the blades and blade enclosure and
these updates must be made before beginning the upgrade process.
The following is a list of the minimum firmware and software versions required. The HP Integrity BL860c i2,
BL870c i2 & BL890c i2 Server Blade User Service Guide Upgrade section contains the most complete list
of firmware requirements with instructions for determining your system's current firmware versions.

Operating System License
Some Operating Environments use tiered licensing levels based on the CPU socket count of the server it runs
on. The tier level will typically rise due to the upgrade and if that is the case, then a new license will be
required for using those Operating Environments. Your HP sales representative must be contacted to obtain
this new license. You will receive full credit for the license already purchased for the original system.
