Front Panel LEDs Behavior
If input power is not maintained to both power supplies on HP Integrity cx2600 and cx2620 servers, front
panel LEDs might not display accurate system information. Input power must be maintained to both power
supplies (even those that have failed) for LEDs to display accurate system faults.
NOTE: Removing input power is not equivalent to a power supply failure as detected by the
circuitry which drives the front panel LED status. When external power is removed from a power
supply, the system's ability to report hardware failures in the unpowered circuits is also removed. It
is a normal and expected behavior of the system that LEDs might not properly reflect power supply
status when input voltage is removed.
If the System LED is flashing amber at 1 Hz, attention is required. For information, look at the diagnostic
LEDs and the MP Status log. The LEDs turn off when you access the MP log.
To confirm LED status display of the power supply state, use the System Event Log (MP SEL command).
