For the 5530, the SETMODE 28 operation resets all SETMODE |
parameters to their SYSGEN values and reinitializes the |
printer. |

For 5512, 5515/5516, and 5573 printers, the I/O process |
automatically sends the RESET command at the beginning of |
each SETMODE 28 operation. The RESET command for these |
printers is <ESC> E. In addition, it sends a conditional |
top of form. This means that if the printer is at the top |
of form when you issue SETMODE 28, a top of form is not |
sent. However, if the printer is not at the top of form |
when you issue SETMODE 28, then a top of form is sent to |
the printer. SETMODE 29 (set auto answer or control answer |
mode) is not affected by SETMODE 28.

NOTE
The default is what was specified at SYSGEN. If nothing
was specified, auto answer is used.
SETMODE 29 remains in effect even after the file is closed.
SETMODE 29 is not affected by SETMODE 28.
SETMODE 29 is not reset at the beginning of each new job.
Therefore, you should always issue a SETMODE 29 at the
Novemeber 1987 C-5
