APPENDIX F |

3681 MULTIFUNCTION CONTROLLER |
This appendix describes the 3681 implementation of ATP6100. |
This implementation is compatible with ATP6100 and its two |
protocol modules, CSSASYNC and CSSPRINT. The 3681 Multifunction |
Controller has two asynchronous ports that connect to asyn- |
chronous subdevices--that is, terminals and printers. Each |
port supports only one subdevice. Unlike the other controllers |
available in the Tandem environment, the 3681 provides multiple |
functionality. |
In addition to the two asynchronous ports, the 3681 has the |
following ports: |
• One asynchronous/synchronous port that can connect to an X.25 |
Public Data Network (PDN) using EXPAND or that can connect to |
another Tandem system using EXPAND |
• One maintenance/diagnostic port that can connect to a remote |
service modem |
• One small computer systems interface (SCSI) port that can |
attach to a disk drive or tape drive |
For details on the other features of the 3681 Multifunction |
Controller, refer to the
NonStop CLX System Management Manual
. |

TERMINALS SUPPORTED BY THE 3681 |
You can attach the following terminals to the asynchronous ports |
on the 3681 for point-to-point, direct communication: |
• 6401, CRT, 80-column, character, RS-232C, type (6,0), Rsize 80 |
