Step Description
7. Restart the
VTC Emulator
(FC) Service
In the MS-Windows menu, Administrative tools,
select Services.
Locate the VTC Emulator (FC) service. Right-click on it and
select Start.
If there is a syntax error, the service will stop immediately.
If the service stops, check the reason in the Event log:
In the MS-Windows menu, Administrative tools,
select Event Viewer, Applications and Services Logs,
Virtual Tape Controller.
8. Rescan the
CLIM
and approve
the new LTO4
tape drives
At the TACL prompt:
climcmd C1002561 lunmgr –scan
Termination Info: 0
climcmd C1002561 lunmgr --approve
OK to assign lun 20 to tape HP Ultrium4-SCSI
#BB030FA705? y
Termination Info: 0
9. Re-add the
LTO4 tape
drives in SCF
(List in Step 1)
Adjust the SCF command to add the tape drives,
the LUN # might be changed.
Then execute the command:
ADD TAPE $G86133, SENDTO STORAGE, &
PRIMARYCPU 2, BACKUPCPU 3, &
CLIM S1002531, &
LUN 20
