Prepare BackPak for DSM/TC Catalog Sync
In the domains on both sides, primary and secondary, the BackPak package version 3.10 and
up must have been installed with the preparation of BBDBM for Catalog Sync option if
DSM/TC catalogs must be replicated.
BBDBM is the program reading and writing the DSM/TC catalogues. If BBDBM is not yet
prepared, there are two ways to prepare it:
Re-execute the installation macro for the NonStop component of BackPak
Prepare it manually.
In both cases, it will be needed to start a TACL session with SUPER.SUPER and to choose the
SQL/MP catalogue where BBDBM will be compiled. The system catalogue is the default option
in the installation macro. As alternative to the system catalog, choose a stable and
permanent DSM/TC VOLCAT, for example the same that was used to SQL-compile
$SYSTEM.SYSnn.MEDIADBM. To identify the system catalogue for the manual preparation:
SQLCI GET CATALOG OF SYSTEM; exit;
Preparation of BBDBM by the BackPak installation macro
The installation macro that installs the NSK components shows an option to prepare for
Catalog Sync option after extracting the program files from the PAK file. In the context of
preparing BBDBM only, the macro will:
Reinstall all programs, without changing the configuration and data files
SQL-compile BBDBM that will access to the DSM/TC SQL/MP data bases.
License BBDBM for updating the DSM/TC tables that have a “system owned” file code.
