Volume Group configuration
This section refers only to specifics of secondary Volume groups; see the regular BackBox
User Manual or BackLib User Manual for a common description of the configuration of a
Volume Group.
Page elements to consider for a secondary Volume Group
Primary Volume Group ID: This is element is available only for SECONDARY or
RESTRICTED Data Stores. If the corresponding primary and secondary Volume
groups have not the same name, it is possible to set the correspondence by entering
the name of the primary group here.
Catalog Type: The type of tape catalog (NONE, DSM/TC, TMF, CA..) must be
coherent between the primary Volume group and its secondary correspondent group,
but not necessary identical. A primary group can be TMF and the secondary NONE.
The only catalog types supported in SECONDARY data stores are NONE and DSM/TC.
Media Type: The media type might be different. The media type of the secondary
Volume group will be assigned to all volumes replicated in the DSM/TC secondary
catalogue, regardless the media type in the primary DSM/TC.
