MESSAGES
Introduction
EMS is already the console for the HP NonStop tape system, it is also:
o the console for BackBox/BackLib NonStop components
o a partial duplicate of the logs of the BackBox MS-Winodws components
This manual lists the messages that can be logged in EMS or displayed by the Web
user interface. Messages are displayed with a prefix that identifies the message
origin, the message number and a letter reporting the event severity:
I Information / Normal completion
W Warning
E Error
F Fatal error
A Program ABEND
If an automatic monitoring on EMS messages is configured to extract the “real error
messages”, it is suggested to select the messages of severity non equal to “I”, and
test this selection. Depending on the specific context some specific error messages
might be skipped by the selection.
