Check carefully the
backup output report
and the volumes
cataloged in DSM/TC for
this backup.
This is very probably the
result of a disk error
when BACKUP can not
back up a complete
paritionned file.
In a multi-volume
backup, a tape 'back-
space' is executed up to
a previous volume that
must be reloaded.
When the volumes are
cataloged in DSM/TC,
some invalid volumes
that should be SCRATCH
might stay cataloged for
the tape file.
Be sure to prepare a
correct restore by the
following check.
If the volumes
cataloged for the
TAPEFILE do not match
the list of volumes
displayed in the
BACKUP report, the
RESTORE should be
executed without tape
catalog, with the list of
volumes identified in
the BACKUP report.
Some note should be
associated to this
BACKUP.
For TSM APPI Data
stores, the number of
TSM objects in this
volume becomes
unknown, and the
validation of expected
number of TSM
obkects will not be
executed at restore
time. Ref message
“E6005 Inconsistency
was found in TSM
objects” .

a volume class that
prevents its loading
because of device
reservations.
In the web application,
query the volume to
identify its volume
class.
Query and eventually
modify the device
resvation in the
configuration of the
VTC.
