17 BackPak H4.00 UI Client Installation
Log VT Controller messages on this Domain:
Leave checked for a first installation.
This parameter has no consequence for a UI Client installed on the
operator workstation.
For a VTC, check the box to have the messages of general interest
(such as “Virtual Tape Device started”) initiated by the VTC
propagated to the EMS subsystem of the NonStop running the
Domain Manager.
EMS messages related to actual operations, such as an error message
while loading a tape, are always propagated to the EMS of the
NonStop issuing the mount request.
This box should always be checked, unless the VTC communicates
with two domains running on the same NonStop node; the second
domain is then un-checked to avoid double logging in EMS.
IP Address(es) Enter the IP address of the NonStop running the BackPak domain
manager,
and click Add
For a VTC or a workstation, additional IP addresses might be
configured as alternative failover addresses to reach the Domain.
Past BackBox versions filtered inbound connections against this list of
domain addresses. This filtering is no more implemented in BackPak.
If needed, the filtering must be defined in the Windows firewall. The
firewall of recent Windows versions must anyway be configured to
allow application inbound connections.
