Check that all nodes participating in the
BladeCluster topology have the
Expand-over-ServerNet profile (T0509H01^AAH).
“Software Requirements for the Current Release of
BladeCluster” (page 22)
OSM Add Node to ServerNet Cluster online helpVerify that the Expand manager process ($ZEXP)
and the network control process ($NCP) are started
in all nodes to be added to the BladeCluster
topology. Check the status of these processes by
using TACL commands:
STATUS $ZEXP
STATUS $NCP
Plan the Expand-Over-ServerNet lines for each node
in the BladeCluster. When planning these lines,
make sure that these defaults are appropriate for
your installation:
• The default prefix used to name the line-handler
processes
• The default CPU assignment for each line-handler
process
Task 3: Perform the Add Node to ServerNet Cluster Procedure
This task describes the steps for configuring the ServerNet switches in a NonStop BladeSystem node or the processor
switches in a NonStop NS16000 series node for BladeCluster connectivity:
• Two ServerNet switches (one on the X fabric and one on the Y fabric) in the first c7000 enclosure (Group 100) in
the NonStop BladeSystem node must be configured. If you are using the high-availablity configuration option, you
need to install X and Y fabric ServerNet switches in groups 100 and 101 of each anchor node BladeSystem.
• Two processor switches (one on the X fabric and one on the Y fabric) in Group 100 in the NonStop NS16000
series node must be configured.

TIP: Refer to the online help within the Add Node to ServerNet Cluster guided procedure.
1. Log on to the OSM Service Connection to configure the ServerNet switches of a BladeSystem or the p-switches
of a NonStop NS16000 series node.
2. In the tree pane of the OSM Service Connection, navigate to the tab that has the system name, for example,
SYSTEM \A.
3. Right-click the system name and select Actions.
4. From the Available Actions drop-down list, select Add Node to ServerNet Cluster.
CAUTION: Do not connect the fiber-optic cables until the Add Node to ServerNet Cluster guided procedure instructs
you to do so.
NOTE: Ensure the appropriate ports for the specified ServerNet node number are available on the Advanced Cluster
Hubs.
5. Use the Specify BladeCluster Configuration dialog box to select your configuration:
a) Left-click Start and select BladeCluster in the Select Cluster Type window. Click Continue.
b) Verify the SNETMON, SANMAN, ME Firmware and OSM versions. Click Continue.
c) Under Specify BladeCluster Configuration, select the ServerNet node number for the node you are adding in
the Node position in the Zone menu.
