BladeCluster Solution Manual
Connecting BladeSystem Nodes to a BladeCluster/6770 Solution
1. Before connecting the cables, make sure the cables are labeled at both ends, indicating the
applicable connections for: node, ServerNet fabric, 6770 cluster switch name (for example,
X1), cluster switch PIC slot number (for example, 6), and cluster switch PIC port (for example,
1).
2. Connect the cable from the X-fabric 6770 ServerNet cluster switch (X1) to port 12 of the
ServerNet switch port in Group 100, module 2, slot 5.
3. Connect the cable from the Y-fabric 6770 ServerNet cluster switch (Y1) to port 12 of the
ServerNet switch port in Group 100, module 3, slot 7.
CAUTION: You cannot use ServerNet switch ports 11 and 12 at the same time and only one
connection per fabric to the ServerNet 6700 series cluster fabric is supported.
Connecting NonStop NS16000 Nodes to a BladeCluster/6770 Series Solution
1. Before connecting the cables, make sure the cables are labeled at both ends, indicating their
connections to the: node, ServerNet fabric, 6770 cluster switch name (for example, X1),
cluster switch PIC slot number (for example, 1), and cluster switch PIC port (for example, 1).
2. Connect the cable from the X-fabric 6770 ServerNet cluster switch (X1) to the processor switch
port 1 PIC in slot 2 of Group 100, module 2.
3. Connect the cable from the Y-fabric 6770 ServerNet cluster switch (Y1) to the processor switch
port 1 PIC in slot 2 of Group 100, module 3.
