the PIC in the range 1–2 must
be available for connecting
one cable (SMF-LC) per fabric.
Connecting BladeSystem Nodes to a BladeCluster/6780 Solution
1. Connect the cable from the X-fabric 6780 ServerNet cluster switch (X11) to port 11 (MMF)
or port 12 (SMF) of the ServerNet switch in Group 100, module 2, slot 5.
2. Connect the cable from the Y-fabric 6780 ServerNet cluster switch (Y11) to port 11 (MMF)
or port 12 (SMF) of the ServerNet switch in Group 100, module 3, slot 7.
CAUTION: You cannot use ServerNet switch ports 11 and 12 at the same time, and only one
connection per fabric to the ServerNet 6700 series cluster fabric is supported.
Connecting NonStop NS16000 Series Nodes to a BladeCluster/6780
Solution
1. Before connecting the cables, make sure the cables are labeled at both ends, indicating their
connections to the: node, ServerNet fabric, 6780 cluster switch name (for example, X11),
cluster switch PIC slot number (for example, 9), and cluster switch PIC port (for example, 1).
2. Connect the cable from the X-fabric 6780 ServerNet cluster switch (X11) to the processor
switch port 1 PIC in slot 2 of Group 100, module 2.
3. Connect the cable from the Y-fabric 6780 ServerNet cluster switch (Y11) to the processor
switch port 1 PIC in slot 2 of Group 100, module 3.
