BladeCluster Solution Manual
Switching the SNETMON Primary and Backup Processes
When the SNETMON backup process becomes the new primary, it queries all processors in the
node to find the state of ServerNet connections to all other nodes. If it finds any connections that
are down, it initiates a sequence to bring the connections to an online state. To switch the
SNETMON process to the primary process, type this command at an SCF prompt:
PRIMARY PROCESS $ZZSCL
Starting Required Processes and Subsystems
NOTE: If the Expand-Over-ServerNet line-handler processes need to be configured, refer to the
Expand Configuration and Management Manual.
If any processes or subsystems are not started, refer to “Starting and Stopping ServerNet Cluster
Processes and Subsystems” (page 80).
Fallback Procedures
Before falling back to software that does not meet “Software Requirements for the Current Release
of BladeCluster” (page 22), remove the node from the BladeCluster. Refer to “Removing a Node
From a BladeCluster Topology” (page 78).
Fallback to a Previous RVU
This procedure requires a system load. Refer to the J06.nn Software Installation and Upgrade
Guide.
Fallback to Previous SPRs
This procedure does not require a system load. Refer to the DSM/SCM User Manual and the
softdocs for each of the SPRs listed under “Software Requirements for the Current Release of
BladeCluster” (page 22).
