Product IDs
The product number for nonsecure DNS is T0685. The product number for secure
DNS is T0708.
Features
Nonsecure DNS is based on BIND 9.2.3 and provides the following features not
available in DNS 4.8:
•
Support for Incremental Zone Transfer (IXFR), Notify, and Dynamic Updates.
•
Support for IPv6 address resolution using A6 Resource Records (RRs), DNAME
RRs, and bitstring labels
•
Support for binding a name server with the user-specified TCP/IP process during
run time
•
Support for allowing applications to choose a resolver configuration file other than
default /etc/resolv.conf file
•
Support for all features available in the older DNS 4.8.3 without regression
